Here at Line of Sight Photography we recognize the importance of doing our part in conserving, and maintaining the environment for future generations. We are proud to have made the environmentally responsible decision to not only work on earning our green business certification, but for establishing the dedication to continually learn more about green business practices. Having a green mission statement is not just a self reminder of our decision to go green, but notice to others that the quality of work we continue to provide our clients isn’t diminished by having green awareness, in fact we believe it is enhanced!
Now I do have a few words about the ‘green’ movement. Generally, when it comes to businesses that tout being green I think it’s a load. Why? I’ve worked for a few very large companies that spend a lot of money talking about all the green things they do but the reality is they are extremely wasteful. Most times I think when companies talk about being green it means more green in their pockets. Because after all green is a premium we can charge the consumer for. Trust me, I pay more for the green products I use. Not that I pass that burden on to you my client
Please when you think about buying green, take the source into consideration. Since this is our company and blog I can tell you where we are coming from. We recycle. To the point that most of our refuse is recycled and not sent to the landfill. My family has been recycling all my life, to me it’s the way things are, not some new fad to follow. I also grew up on a communal farm for part of my youth. I really don’t think my mom spent $50 a month feeding the 3 of us. We also have a pretty big garden where we grow a lot of our veggies during the summer. We also endeavor to buy locally grown veggies as well. I drive a 1996 Jetta as well. Not flashy for sure, and it rattles a bit, but it still gets 30 mpg and has over 200,000 miles on it.
Now all that being said, don’t think I’m going to look down on you for not having grown up like this. We all have to start somewhere and the sooner we are all protective of the world we live in the better.
